Application deadlines:

• For stays abroad during winter semester:
  1 February (FH Upper Austria, Hagenberg, Linz, Steyr, Wels Campus)

• For stays abroad during summer semester:
  1 February (FH Upper Austria, Steyr Campus)
  1 July (FH Upper Austria, Hagenberg, Linz, Wels Campus)

All students have the option of completing part of their studies at a comparable university abroad. Nevertheless it is necessary to coordinate such wishes with the curriculum of their degree programme and the respective head of studies. The International Office on campus will assist students with the organisation of their studies abroad.

At present, the FH Upper Austria is connected with over 200 partner universities worldwide. Our students can participate in exchange programmes with these institutions for last one or two semesters. Typically, tuition fee will be waived at the partner university. Students can also go abroad for a semester as a "freemover", but will have to pay tuition fee in this case.

In both cases, any courses completed abroad must be sufficiently equivalent to their study program at home and therefore eligible for replacing missed requirements. This means that a semester abroad does not delay your progression towards your academic degree.
